Engineer/Maintenance

Seeking a reliable individual who enjoys working in a team environment to join our team as a Hotel Engineer. The Maintains the physical functionality and safety of the hotel including, but not limited to, guest rooms public areas and employee areas.

Roles and Responsibilities: This job description is not an exclusive or exhaustive list of all job functions that an employee in this position may be asked to perform from time to time.

  • Respond to guest calls and team member work orders in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery and/or equipment.
  • Perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, HVAC work, masonry, furnishings and fixtures, wall coverings, window repairs, etc.
  • Conduct inspections and maintain for preventive maintenance needs.
  • Knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures, including location of all emergency shut-offs.
  • Record and report completed repairs and items that require further attention.
  • Maintain the guest room Preventative Maintenance program and consistently keep updated records.
  • Be knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures, including location of all emergency shut-offs.

Requirements: Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including Holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

  • Availability to work all shifts, also must be able to work holidays and weekends.
  • Strong ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  • Strong understanding of the technologies used and required.
  • React quickly in emergency situations, making sound decisions.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds or more.
  • Able to operate safely & responsibly heavy machinery.
  • Saflok knowledge a plus

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Education: Degree a plus. Combination of vocational education, apprenticeship, in-plant training, or on-the job training required.
Experience: Previous hotel engineering experience a plus
