Property Controller

Friendwell Management USA LLC is seeking a Hotel Property Accountant to provide accounting and financial support to hotel operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with company policies, and supporting the hotel’s overall financial performance.

Key Responsibilities (This description is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.)

  • Count cash drops and prepare daily deposits; post checks and cash payments as required.
  • Process hotel invoices promptly and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Monitor hotel expenses through the checkbook, procurement system, and budget controls.
  • Oversee revenue and payment postings to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Generate and distribute invoices for direct bill accounts and follow up on collections.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures and reconciliations.
  • Analyze budget vs. actual performance and present findings during monthly meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with department managers and the corporate office regarding accounting-related matters.
  • Assist with preparation of the annual hotel budget.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the hospitality industry required.
  • Experience with OPERA Cloud strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to evaluate and make decisions quickly and accurately.
  • Composure and objectivity under pressure.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex data and financial information.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Additional Requirements

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, flexibility is required. Employees may need to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Attendance at all required training sessions and meetings is mandatory.
